Water Hygiene & L8 Monitoring

Water Hygiene

D&A Water we provide a comprehensive suite of services to ensure compliance with L8 regulations, encompassing initial Risk Assessments, remedial actions, tank cleaning, and sanitisation. Our Water Hygiene Services can be customised to include weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual inspections, in addition to water sampling and various other services.

 

L8 Monitoring

HSE ACOP L8, titled "Legionnaires' disease: The Control of Legionella Bacteria in Water Systems, " mandates the preparation of a documented plan to mitigate the risks associated with legionella. This documented plan must be effectively executed and managed to ensure that all water systems undergo regular assessments of temperature, water usage, and cleanliness inspections.

 

Water Hygiene Maintenance, Inspection and Monitoring to HSE requirements

HSE ACOP L8 and associated guidance HSG 274 Part 2: The control of legionella bacteria in hot and cold water systems require that the following are completed

​

  • Check the performance of the system and its component parts

  • Inspect the accessible parts of the system for damage and signs of contamination

  • Monitor the treatment / temperature regime to ensure that it continues to control to the required standard 

  • Audit the existing site records

D&A Water we have extensive knowledge of legionella monitoring and inspection works with the latest in handheld technology. We can offer: Management of pre-planned visit management Packages from complete L8/HSG274 compliance monitoring to bespoke packages for where monitoring items cannot be completed internally Monitoring packages can include water sampling and analysis (chemical and microbiological including legionella and TVC) utilising a network of UKAS accredited laboratories Personnel who are directly employed, well trained, skilled, and experienced.
